The Tembe Elephant Park Development Trust
The Tembe Elephant Park has proven so successful as a sanctuary that over-population is affecting the park’s ability to feed its elephants. To avoid the threat of culling, the Tembe Trust needs your help.
The Trust was formed with the objective of raising funds to help expand the Tembe Elephant Park, while working with the local community to promote tourism in and about the park.
By making a donation to the Trust, you can make a huge difference to the region’s elephants – the largest, free-ranging elephants left in the world.
Donated funds will be used to:
- Expand Tembe Elephant Park by an additional 20 000 hectares – protecting herd growth for at least 10 years
-
Move and create fences to demarcate the new, larger park
-
Develop waterholes
-
Pay rangers to patrol the expanded park
-
Move some local villages.
